Remix Cups are inspired by Korean scholar shelf paintings from the Joseon Dynasty. These still-life paintings depicted treasured objects of the literati class, presented as symbols of status, scholarship, worldliness, and beauty. They were essentially a “scholar flex” showcasing the sophistication and cultural depth of their owners, much like today’s Zoom call “shelfies.”
